A charged rod attracts bits of dry cork dust which after touching the rod often jump violently away from it. Explain

The rod attracts the cork dust because it is charged.If you touch the rod, the charges in the rod gets transferred to you and hence the rod losses it charge.This makes the dust to jump away from it..
