area of chart paper=4×3=12m sq.
area of strip cut=4×1 (as all sides are equal so area of square=4m sq.
area of remaining sheet=12-4=8m sq.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the rectangle be named as ABCD

AB & CD = 4m

BC &DA = 3m

area of the given chart = L x B

area (it is a rectangle)   = 4m x 3m

                                        = 12m²

lengths would be :

  • AB & CD = 4 - 1 = 3m
  • BC & DA = 3 -1 = 2m

the area of the remaining chart would be = L x B

                                                                              = 3m x 2m

                                                                     area = 6m²

area of the strap = area of the whole chart paper - area of the remaining

                                                                                            chart paper

                             = 12m² - 6m²

                             = 6m²

I hope so that this must be the answer but am not sure about it.

1m is reduced from each four sides
