A chef had some cooking oil.
After he bought another 6.2 l of cooking oil, he had 5 times as much
oil as he did at first.
How much cooking oil did he have in the end?​

let the initial amount of cooking oil = x l

x + 6.2 = 5x

6.2 = 5x-x

4x = 6.2

x = 6.2/4

x = 1.55 l

so in the end, the chef had x + 6.2 l = 1.55 + 6.2 = 7.75 l
