A child has a die whose six faces show the letters as given below:

The die is thrown once. What is the probability of getting (i) A? (ii) D?

Solution :-

Total numbers of events = 6

(i) Total numbers of faces having A on it = 2

Probability of getting A = 2 / 6

= 1 / 3

(ii) Total numbers of faces having D on it = 1

Probability of getting D = 1 / 6

Total no of events =6

The probability of getting event A p(E) =2/6=1/3

Probability of getting event D =1/6
