Answer:

a)  gene therapy is a possible life long cure for ADA deficiency

gene therapy is the replacement of defective gene by normal functional gene.

it is also defined as the collection of methods which correct a genetic defect involving transfer of normal gene in individual or in embryos which take over the function of defective gene.

If the gene isolated from bone marrow cell producing ADA is introduced into the cell at embryonic stage , it could be a permanent cure.

b) other  treatment for this disease is enzyme replacement therapy, in this functional ADA enzyme is given to the patient by injection , but, this is not completely curative.
