A child prepares a poster on save energy on a square sheet whose each side measures

60cm.At each corner of the sheet, she draws a quadrant radius 17.5cm, in which she

shows the ways to save energy. At, the centre she draws a circle of diameter 21cm

and writes slogan “Save energy” in it. Find the area of the remaining sheet

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the square =60×60=3600 cm2

Diameter = 21cm

Area of Circle = π r^2 cm2

= 22/7 * 10.5 * 10.5

= 346.5 cm2

Area of quadrant = πr^2 / 4

= 22/7 * 17.5 * 17.5 / 4

= 962.5 / 4 = 240.625 cm2

We know there are 4 quadrants nd if we get required area then we will subtract these 4 quadrants and the central circle from area of square

Area of the remaining sheet =Area of square - area of circle - area of 4 quadrants

=3600−346.5 - (4* 240.625)

=3600−346.5- 962.5 cm2

= 3600 - 1309

= 2291 cm2
