a child standing in front of a wall claps his hand and hears an echo after 0.5 second. find his distance from the wall.the velocity of sound is= 340 m/s

time will be here = 0.5 x 0.5

speed = 340 m/s

so diatance = 340 × 0.25
distance = 85 m

time of echo= 0.5 sec
velocity of sound = 340m/s
distance= (speed×time)/2
distance = (340× 0.5)/2
distance= 170/2
distance= 85 m
