A child went to a shop to buy a pen, pencil and a ruler where costs are integral values (in Rs) and are in decreasing order . Each item costs at least Rs 4. The total cost is Rs 15 and the cost of a pencil is Rs 5. How many pencil can he purchase with the amount required to purchase ten rulers?

Answer:

pencil is Rs.5

each item is atleast Rs.4

so,

pencil+ruler+pen=15

5+4+6=15 (according to decreasing order)

so,ruler is Rs.4

10 rulers cost Rs.40

each pencil cost Rs.5

so,we can get 8 pencils with Rs.40
