in my opinion it is correct a child wants to grow up because he thinks that the adults enjoy every power i.e. enjoy going outside with friends and also they thinks that after reaching the adult age there is no burden of school work. And adults feels that the childhood days are best as after growing up they had a lots of stress of their work and also have to earn money for family as the responsibility of family is on their shoulders.

Yes, We always desire what we are not and we do not take account of what we have in our lives and always desire what we cannot or do not have in our lives. it is a circle of desire and regret because once we have what we always have wanted our whole life may seem great at first but slowly we gain a new desire and disregard what we have just achieved in our life. And sometimes we do not take account of what is truly wonderful and amazing in our life until it is to late or unaccounted for. However sometimes we may just take in we have to live life instead of wishing how to. (i hoped this helped and if this did not answer your question i am very sorry about it)
