Two Isotopes of chlorine are in ratio 3 : 1 that means they are 75% and 25% respectively.

Average atomic mass of chlorine

=

 \frac{35  \times  75}{100}  +  \frac{37 \times 25}{100}

=

 \frac{105}{4}  +  \frac{37}{4}

=

 \frac{142}{4}

= 35.5 u

Average atomic mass of chlorine atom = 35.5 u
