where the x is distance of chord from centre that

is 4 cm. And y is half of the length of chord that is 3 cm. and c is radius of circle.

So, c=√25=5 cm (radius of circle)

Now, for the second chord the radius = 5cm, and the distance of chord from the centre is 3cm, so for applying the above formula...

 \sqrt{ {x }^{2} +  {3}^{2}  }  = 5

x^2= 25-9=16

x=4cm.

but the length of chord is 2x then,

length od chord is 8cm.
