A chord is 12 cm long is 8cm away from the centre of the circle.whaat is the length is 6cm away from the centre

So we take 12/2 i.e. 6cm and distance from the center to be 8cm

So using pythagoras theorem.....

6_2+8_2=x_2

x_2=100

x=10cm

Thus radius is 8cm.

Taking radius as 8cm and using the data that the chord is 6cm away .

Again pythagoras theorem but now we need to find the chord.

10_2=6_2+x_2

x_2=64

x=8cm

But this half of the chord so, 2*8 = 16cm
