chord AB is 30 cm long
according to the theorem : perpendicular drawn from the centre of the circle to the chord bisects the chord
therefore , AM = 15cm
In triangle OMA ,
OA2= OM2 + AM2
OA2 = 8 square + 15 square
OA 2 = 64+ 225
= 289
taking square root
OA = 17 cm
