Length of chord = 14cm

Angle subtended = 90°

In ΔOAB, ∠O= 90° and OA = OB = r (radii of a circle)

∴ΔOAB is Right angled isosceles triangle. So, using pythagoras theorem,

r²+r² = 14²

2r²=196 => r²=98

fArea of minor sector = \frac{Θ}{360} × π × r²

                                = \frac{90}{360} × \frac{22}{7} × 98

                               = \frac{1}{4} ×22×14

                               = 77 cm²
