a circle has radius root 2 cm. it is divided into 2 segments by a chord of length 2 cm . then find the angle subtended by the chord at a point in the major segment.

radius is given root2 and chord is 2cm let AB is chord of circle and O is the center of circle. line comes from center and cut chord is perpendicular bisector. let cut point in the chord is N . for AON triangle .we find first ON by Pythagoras theorem. I.e. 1cm so, AON have two 45 and one 90 degree angles. in the way use for BON then you observe AOB=90 degree
so, chord subtend 45 degree angle in major section of circle
