The area of the remaining sheet is 20.71 sq. cm.

Explanation:

Given : Side-length of square piece of cardboard sheet = 7cm

Area of of cardboard sheet  = (side)²

Area of of cardboard sheet  = (7)² = 49 sq. cm

Radius of circle = 3 cm

Area of circle = \pi r^2 , where r = radius of circle

Then, Area of circle = \dfrac{22}{7}\times(3)^2=28.29\ cm^2

Area of the  remaining sheet = Area of of cardboard sheet - Area of circle

= 49 - 28.29 =20.71 sq. cm

Hence, the area of the remaining sheet is 20.71 sq. cm.
