Area of the stripped portion = Area of the whole carpet - Area of the inner portion

Diameter of the carpet = 1.4 m = 140 cm

Radius = 140/2 = 70 cm

Area of the whole carpet = πr²

= 22/7*70*70

= 15400 cm²

Radius of the inner portion = 70 - 20 = 50 cm

Area of the inner portion = πr²

22/7*50*50

= 7857.14 cm²

Area of the stripped portion = 15400 - 7857.14

= 7542.86 cm
