A circular cycle track has a circumference of 314 m with AB as one its diameter. A cyclist travels from A to B along the circular path with a velocity of constant magnitude of 15.7 m/s . Find
1)The distance moved by the cyclist.
2)the displacement of the cyclist if AB represents N-S direction
3) the average velocity of the cyclist.

Answer:

Circumference=2πr=314m

2×22/7r=314

r=314×7/44

r=2198/44

r=49.95m

Diameter=49.95×2=99.9m

The distance moved by a cyclist=99.9m

(2)Displacement=99.9m

(3)Average Velocity=u+v/2

=15.7+15.7/2

=31.4/2

=15.7m/s

Answer:

a) 157m    b) 99.9m     c)15.7m/s

Explanation:

a) distance

(314/2)m= 157m

b)displacement

circumference =2πr= 314m

  r=314 x 7/22 x 1/2

   =49.95m

diameter=displacement=49.95m x 2= 99.9m

c) avg. velocity

=15.7+15.7/2 m/s

=31.4/2 m/s

=15.7 m/s

Hope this helps.
