Distance moved by the cyclist is 157 meter

Displacement is 100 meter if ab is alone the east west direction

Solution:

A circular cycle track has a circumference of 314 metres

circumference = 314 meter

2 \pi r = 314\\\\r = 314 \times \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{7}{22}\\\\r = 50

AB as one of its diameter a cyclist travels from A to B along a circular path

Distance moved by the cyclist = half of circumference

Therefore,

circumference = 314 meter

\text{Distance moved by the cyclist } = \frac{1}{2} \times 314 = 157

Find the displacement

displacement = 2 ( radius )

displacement = 2 ( 50) = 100

Thus displacement is 100 meter if ab is alone the east west direction
