$Height = 40cm$

$Radius = 3.5 cm$

To find,

The total surface area and the lateral surface area of the cylinder.

Solution,

We know that,
 
T.S.A of cylinder $= 2 \pi r(r+h)$
                       
                           $= 2 ( \frac{22}{7}) (3.5) (3.5+40)$
 
                           $= 22 (43.5)$
 
                           $= 957 cm ^{2}$

We know that, 
L.S.A of cylinder $=2 \pi rh$
 
                           $=( 2) \frac{22}{7} (3.5) (40)$
  
                           $= (22) (40)$
 
                           $= 880cm^{2}$

∴T.S.A = 957 cm²  & L.S.A = 880 cm²
