Hey friend, Harish here.

Here is your answer.

Given that,

Height = 40cm

Radius = 3.5 cm

To find,

The total surface area and the lateral surface area of the cylinder.

Solution,

We know that,

T.S.A of cylinder = 2 \pi r(r+h)

                           = 2 ( \frac{22}{7}) (3.5) (3.5+40)

                           = 22 (43.5)

                           = 957 cm ^{2}

We know that,
L.S.A of cylinder =2 \pi rh

                           =( 2) \frac{22}{7} (3.5) (40)

                           = (22) (40)

                           = 880cm^{2}

∴T.S.A = 957 cm²  & L.S.A = 880 cm²
