A circular disc with radius 0.1m is kept in an electric field such that it's normal makes an angle of 30degree with a uniform electric field of magnitude 2kNC-1 a. What is the electric flux through the disc b. What is the flux through the disc if the normal is 1. Perpendicular to intensity of electric field 2. Parallel to the intensity of electric field

1.5 * 10^4 Nm^2/C

Explanation:

R= 10 cm or .1 m , E= 5*10^5 n/c

as the plane sheet makes an angle 60 with the electric field .

as we know area vector is always perpendicular to the surface , so the area vector will make an angle 90-60 = 30 with the elctric field .

now simply applying the formulae,

∅= E*A*COS theta

5*10^5 * π R^2 * cos 30

5*10^5 * 3.14(0.)^2 *√3/2 = 1.5*10^4 Nm^2/C ans... ( cos 30 = √3/2 ) √3= 1.73
