Answer: (a) 4 cm

(b) 150.85 Sq. cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let R be the radius of the disk and r be the radius of each cone.

(a) R = 12cm (given)

circumference = 2πR = (2 x 22/7 x 12) = 528/7 cm

Now,

circumference of each cone = 528\7 x 1/3 = 176/7 cm

circumference of cone = 2πr

=> 176/7 = (2 x 22/7 x r)

=> r = 176/7 x 7/22 x 1/2

=> r = 4 cm

(b) CSA of cone = πrl = 22/7 x 4 x 12

{•.• l = R = 12cm}

= 1056/7 cm^2

= 150.85 cm^2
