A circular flower bed is 16 m in diameter and has a circular sidewalk around it that is 3 m wide. Find the area of the sidewalk in square meters. Use 3.14 for π.

Area of a circular lot=pi×(22/3)^2

pi=3.14,22×22=484,3×3=9. so. =53.7pi

Area of flower bed =pi×(16/3)^2=

3.14×(16×16=256/3×3=9)

3.14×256/9=28.4.pi.

Area of sidewalk=area of circular lot - area of flower bed

= 53.7pi - 28.4 pi meter
