A circular flower bed is 20 m in diameter and has a circular sidewalk around it that is 4 m wide. Find the area of the sidewalk in square meters. Use 3.14 for π.

r of flower bed = 20/2 = 10m

r of outer circle = 10+4 = 14m

area of outer circle = πr²

= 3.14×14×14

= 615.44 m²

area of flower bed = πr²

= 3.14×10×10

= 314 m²

area of sidewalk = 615.44-314

= 301.44m²
