\bold{\underline{Question:}}

A circular flower bed is surrounded by a path 7 m . The diameter of the flower bed is 70 m. What is the area of this path?

\bold{\underline{Solution:}}

Given :

  • There is a circular flower bed with diameter of 70 m.

We know that diameter is two times of its radius.

\bold{2radius=Diameter}

\bold{Radius=\frac{Diameter}{2}}

\bold{\boxed{Radius=\frac{70}{2}=35{\quad{meter}}}}

  • Area of the path = \bold{\pi(R^2-r^2) }

Where ,

R = radius of circle along with path = 35 + 7 = 42 m.

r = radius of circle = 35 m.

Area of path :

=\bold{\frac{22}{7}(42^2-35^2)}\\\\\\=\bold{\frac{22}{7}(1764-1225)}\\\\\\=\bold{\frac{22}{7}*539}\\\\\\=\bold{22*77}=1694.\\\\\bold{\boxed{\textsf{Area of the = 1694 sq. meter}}}
