area covered by sprinkler=πr²=3.14*12*12=452.16m²
since the Area of garden is less than the area of covered by sprinkler
thus, sprinkler can water the entire garden

Given :

  • A circular flower garden has an area of 314 m². A sprinkler at the centre of the garden can cover an area that has a radius of 12 m.

To find :

  • Will the sprinkler water the entire garden.

Using formula :

★ Area of circle = πr².

Calculations :

→ 3.14 × 12 × 12

→ 3.14 × 12²

452.16 m²

The area of sprinkler covers more than the area of garden.

Hence,

The sprinkler can water the entire garden.
