Hi ,

The diameter of the circular park

d = 28 m

Radius ( r ) = d/2

r = 28/2 = 14 m

If the circular track of width ( w ) =

3.5m outside has been developed

along the park then the radius of the

Outer circle

R = r + w

R = 14 + 3.5

R = 17.5m

Area of the circular track around the

park = area of outer circle - area of

inner circle

A = πR² - πr²

A = π( R² - r² )

A = π ( R + r ) ( R - r )

[ Since a² - b² = ( a + b ) ( a - b )]

A = (22/7) ( 17.5 + 14 )( 17.5 - 14 )

A = (22/7)(31.5)(3.5)

A = ( 22)(31.5)(0.5)

A = 346.5 square meters

I hope this helps you.
