A circular Park of 28m diameter has been constructed. A 3.5m circular track outside has been developed along the park. Using algebraic formulae, find the area of the track around the park.

The outside diameter of the circular path = 28 + 2x3.5 = 35m

The area of the track = π x R² - π x r²
                                     = 22/7 x (35/2)² - 22/7 x (28/2)²
                                     = 962 1/2 - 616
                                      = 346.5 m²

R = Outer radius; r = Inner radius
