A circular park of 28m diameter has been constructed. A3.5m circular track outside has been developed along the park. Using algebraic formulae, find the area of the track around the park

diameter of the park = 28m

radius of the park (r) = d/2 = 28/2= 14m

after circular track 3.5 m width developed
radius of the bigger circle = R = r+w =14+3.5 =17.5 m

area of the track = πR² - πr²

=π(R² - r²)
=π(R+r)(R - r)
=π(17.5 +14)(17.5 -14)

= 22/7 * 31.5 * 3.5

= 22 * 31.5 *0.5
=346.5m²
