A piece of wire is bent in the shape of an equilateral triangle of each side 6.6 cm. It is re-bent to form a circular ring. What is the diameter of the ring?

answer.

Each side= 6.6 cm.

No. Of sides=3

Therefore, perimeter of the triangle=6.6×3=19.8cm

Therefore length of the wire=19.8cm

When the wire is bent to a circular ring, perimeter i.e, circumference of the circle will be still 19.8cm.

Therefore,

2πr=19.8

=> 2r=19.8/π

Since diameter is equal to twice the radius of the circle,we can say that Diameter=19.6/π

= 19.8×7/22

=6.3cm

Hence the diameter of the circle is 6.3cm.

Hope this helps you.
