volume of the material used = 0.02592 m³

total surface area =10.36 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

length of the circular pipe = height of the pipe =  30 m = 3000 cm

internal diameter = 5 cm

radius (r) = \frac{5}{2}

external diamter = 6 cm

radius (R) = 3 cm

external volume = \pi R^2h

= \frac{22}{7}\times3\times3 \times3000

= \frac{594000}{7}

= 84857.14 cm³

internal volume =

\frac{22}{7}\times\frac{5}{2} \times\frac{5}{2}\times 3000

=58928.57 cm ³

volume of the material used = external volume - internal volume

84857.14 cm³ - 58928.57 cm³

= 25928.57 cm³

= 0.02592 m³

total surface area = 2\pi h(R+r) + 2\pi (R^2- r^2)

=2\times\frac{22}{7}\times 3000(3+2.5)+ 2\times\frac{22}{7} \times (9 - 6.25)

= \frac{132000}{7 } \times (5.5) + \frac{44}{7} \times (2.75)\\

= 103714.28 - 17.285

= 103696.995  cm²

=10.36 m²

hence,

volume of the material used = 0.02592 m³

total surface area =10.36 m²
