Answer :

★ Number of liters of water in the pool = 33.784 liters

Given :

• Radius of the circular pool = 3 m

• Height of the circular pool = 1.5 m

• The pool is filled with water up to 4/5 of its total capacity

To find :

• Number of liters of water in the pool

Knowledge Required :

Formula to calculate volume of cylinder :-

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume of cylinder = πr²h

where,

• Take π = 22/7

• r denotes the radius of the cylinder

• h denotes the height of the cylinder

The unit of volume = m³, cm³, etc.

Solution :

Firstly, calculate the volume of the cylinder :

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume of cylinder = πr²h

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Substituting the given values :

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume of cylinder = 22/7 × (3)² × 1.5

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume of cylinder = 22/7 × 3 × 3 × 1.5

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume of cylinder = 297/7

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Volume of cylinder = 42.43

Volume of the cylinder = 42.23 m³

→ The pool is filled with 4/5 of its total capacity.

Total capacity of the pool is equal to volume of the pool. So, to calculate the number of liters of water in the pool multiply the volume of the pool by 4/5.

⠀⠀⠀⇒ No. of liters of water = 42.23 × 4/5

⠀⠀⠀⇒ No. of liters of water = 168.92/5

⠀⠀⠀⇒ No. of liters of water = 33.784

Number of liters of water in the pool = 33.784 liters
