A circular road of equal width exists surrounding a circular park. The differences between the inner and outer circumferences of the road is 44 m. If the area of the road be 1386 sq m what is the area of the park?

let R and r be the radius of outer and inner circular park.

2pi R-2pi (r) = 44

R-r=7 ......(1)

also,

pi R² - pi r²=1386

R²- r² = 441

(R+r)R-r = 441

R+r= 63 {from . 1} ......(2)

from 1 and 2.. we get

R= 35 and r= 28

area of park is inner area only we dont consider outer area so,

area of park =pi r²= 22/7 * (28 )² = 2464 m²
