Answer:

In one sec. length of water flow in pipe = 5 m

radius = 7/2 = 3.5 cm = 0.0035 m

volume of water flow per sec = π r² h = π(0.0035)² ×5

                                              =192.5× 10^(-6) m³

volume of water discharged per min = 192.5× 10^(-6) m³×60

                                                               = 11.55×10^(-3) m³

                                                               = 0.01155 m³

                                                               =11.55 Liter

volume of tank = 4×3×2.31 = 27.72 m³

∵1m³ = 1000 Liter

volume of tank = 27720 Liter

time to fill the tank = 27720/11.55 = 2400 minutes

                                                         = 2400/60 = 40 hours
