Given, circumference of a circular tile is 48.2 cm.

We know that the formula for finding the circumference of a circle is 2πr, where ‘r’ is the radius.

According to the question,

2πr = 48.2 cm

or, πr = 48.2/2 cm

or, πr = 24.1 cm

or, r = 24.1 × 7/22 [π = 22/7]

or, r = 1687/220 cm

or, r = 7.6682 cm (approx.)

We know that the length of the diameter is double the length of the radius or d = 2r where ‘d’ is the diameter.

d = 2(7.6682)

or, d = 15.3364 cm

or, d = 15.3 cm (approx.)

By converting the given measurement from cm to mm, we know that 1 cm = 10 mm, we obtain

d = 15.3 cm × 10

or, d = 153 mm (approx.)

Answer:

The diameter of the circular tile is 153 mm (approx.) .
