a circular wire of radius 42 cm is bent in the form of a rectangle whose sides are in the ratio 6:5. Which encloses more area , circle or rectangle ?

Radius of circle- 42cm

Circumference= 2πr= 2π×42= 84πcm

Area of circle- π×(42×42)= 1764πsqcm

Length: breadth of rectangle= 6:5

Let length= 6k and breadth= 5k where k is not eaual to 0.

2(6k+5k)= 84π

22k= 84π

k=42π/11

Length of rectangle= 252π/11

Breadth= 210π/11

Area of rectangle= 52920π^2/110

= 481.09 π^2

=1511.3π sqcm

Hence area of circle is bigger
