The tent has two parts

(I) a cylindrical part and (II) a conical part

(I) curved surface area of cylindrical portion

=2πrh

2× 7/22 × 105/2 ×6m2

=1980 m2

(II) Curved sufrace area of conical portion

πrl

7/22 × 105/2 × 50m²

=8250m 2

∴ Total area of canvas required to build the tent

=Curved surface area of conical portion

=1980m² +8250m²

=10230m ²
