A city bus is carrying 70 passengers,some with 50paise tickets and the remaining 1 rs tickets.If the total amount recived by the conductor was Rs 56..find the no of passengers of each type?

Let the number of people having ₹1 be x
The number of people have ₹0.5 (or ₹1/2) will be 70-x
$x + (70 - x) \times \frac{1}{2} = 56 \\ x + \frac{70 - x}{2} = 56 \\ \frac{2x + 70 - x}{2} = 56 \\ x + 70 = 112 \\ x = 42$
The number of people having ₹1 is 42.
The number of people having 50 paise will be 70-42 = 28
