Dannis Brustus was from Salisbury, Rhodesia. His parents were South African and he was educated form Hare College. He stayed for 14 years in South Africa and got his education. He also participated in many anti- apartheid campaigns which were related to sports. He was also banned by the African government from attending any political and social meeting. African government also declared that it was illegal to publish any of his writings in South Africa.
