Step-by-step explanation:

Given : In a class, there are 20 boys and 15 girls .

Let the number of boys = x

and

Let the number of girls.= y

The total of 20 boys and 15 girls in a class is divided into n number of groups. This can be written as

Number of groups = 35/n

Thus, we can say that

(x + y) = 35/n

nx + ny = 35

= 20 + 15

Total number of boys

= nx

=> 20 = 2 × 10 or 4 × 5

Total number of girls

= ny

= > 15 = 3 × 5 or  5 × 3.

Thus,

nx = 5 x 4

ny = 5 x 3

why ?

because if n = 5,

which means that the total 35 students are  divided into 5 groups with 7 students in each group.

Hence,

when

n = 5 ,

x = 4 ,

y = 3

Then only it is possible.
