n needs to be a factor of 20 n 15 to divide them equally.20 = 5 * 2 * 215 = 5 * 3therefore no. of groups(n) = 5also,if each group has equal no. of boys (x),then x= 20/5 x=4similarly y = 15/5 y = 3thumbs

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In a class 20 boys and 15 girls .

Let x be the boys and y be the girls.

Given that in a class of 20 boys and 15 girls is divided into n groups i. e 35 / n

= (x + y) = 35 / n

= nx + ny = 35 = 20 + 15

total number of boys = nx = 20 = 2 x 10 = 10 x 2 = 4 x 5 = 5 x 4 .

total number of girls= ny = 15 = 3 x 5 = 5 x 3.

∴ nx = 5 x 4 and ny = 5 x 3.

when n = 5 ,x = 4 , y = 3 then only it is possible.
