what we know : total number of students=40

the total number of students voted for A=12

the total number of students voted for B=18

the remaining students didn't vote so, 40 -(12+18)= 40 - 30 =

the number of students didn't vote is = 10

[percentage formula = value/total X 100]

so the percentage of votes for A is 12/40 X 100 = 30%
