A class test was held for 40 students and their marks out of 60 are as under 4,7, 9, 8, 9, 10, 8, 15, 16, 33, 15, 23, 27, 35, 38, 18, 20, 25, 28, 32, 43, 48, 36, 39, 24, 42, 45, 47, 28, 19, 39, 29, 34, 49, 50, 23, 34, 42, 32, 18. Construct a grouped frequency distribution table.

Given: Marks of 40 students out of 60 are given

To Construct : Grouped frequency distribution table

Step-by-step explanation:

Marks of 40 students are as follows:

4,7,9,8,9,10,8,15,16,33,15,23,27,35,38,18,20,25,28,32,43,48,36,39,24,42,45,47,28,19,39,29,34,49,50,23,34,42,32,18.

1. To construct a grouped frequency table we will group the marks

  in the class size of 10 i.e., 0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60.

2. Most important thing while making a grouped frequency table

is to carefully look to the data and re-checking it after constructing.

And always remember never to count upper limit of the class in that    group in continuous grouped frequency data table.

3. Marks                  No. of Students

    0-10                           6

    10-20                         7

    20-30                        9

    30-40                       10

    40-50                       7

     50-60                      1

                               Total no. of students = 40 ,

it is same as given in the question

∴ Table constructed by us is correct.
