Horace Danby was not a constant thief, he only stole once in a year with full planning just to achieve his desire of collecting rare and expensive books.

He saw an article of a house at the Shortover Grange, in a magazine. It informed him about the rooms, the designing, wiring, paths, and other usual things about the house. The writer of the article had also mentioned, that the jewellery of fifteen thousand pounds in is hidden in a locker behind the painting of a room. Horace kept a track of the house for two weeks, he noticed every detail of the house and was certain that his plan will be executed successfully.

When the waiters were gone out for a movie, Horace took the advantage and peeped into the house. He was suffering from a hay fever and sniffed from the smell of flowers....
