The inverse ratio of speed is the ratio of time.

Speed in the first case = 2 km/h

Speed in the second case becomes = 3 km/h

the distance can be found by multiplying time with speed.

So now let's find time for both the cases.

the ratio of speeds = 2:3

the ratio of times = 3:2 ( the inverse ratio)

According to question, the difference between time gap between each time is of 6 minutes.

the ratio of times = 3:2

the difference is 3 - 2 = 1

1 = 6.

3 = 18 mins
2 = 12 mins

In the first case, the total time taken is 18 mins = 18/60 hr.
In the second case, the total time taken is 12 mins = 12/60 hr.

The distance between the house and office = 12/60 × 3 = 3/5 km = 600 m. answer.
