Answer: The tip of the hour hand covers a distance of 66cm.

Explanation

Angle of hour hand from 12 to 9

270 degrees (9/12 = 3/4,  Therefore 3/4 of 360 degrees = 270 degrees)

Distance covered by hour hand from 12 to 9 hours is the length of the arc of sector.

Therefore, Using length of arc formula

θ/360 x 2πr

270/360 x 2 x 22/7 x 14

= 66cm

Hope this helps!!

Answer:

65.94 cm

Explanation:

anglular distance covered by hour hand in one hour =

2\pi \div 12

then angular displacement covered in nine hours =

9 \times (2\pi \div 12)

= or 4.71 radian

radius = 14 cm

then distance covered = radius × angular distance covered

= 14 × 4.71 cm

= 65.94 cm
