Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

Correct time = 3:10 pm (Sunday)

● Explanation -

Given that clock gains 12 min every day. therefore time shown will be -

Observed time passed = actual time passed + actual time passed × 12 / 24×60

Observed time passed = actual time passed (1 + 1/120) min

According to given data observed time passed is -

Observed time passed =

3:50 pm (Sunday) - 7:10 am (Thursday)

Observed time passed = 3 days 8 hrs 40 min

Observed time passed = 3×24×60 + 8×60 + 40

Observed time passed = 4820 min

Now substitute value,

4840 = actual time passed (1 + 1/120) min

Actual time passed = 4840 / (1 + 1/120)

Actual time passed = 4800 min

Actual time passed = 3 days 8 hrs

So correct time in the clock should have been -

Correct time = 7:10 am (Thursday) + 3 days 8 hrs

Correct time = 3:10 pm (Sunday)

Therefore, correct time in the watch should have been Sunday 3:10 pm.

Hope that's useful..
