Dear Courtney,

It broke my heart last week to find out that your were being bullied and as your friend, I felt it was my responsibility to help you through this difficult time. With this being said, I have process we may take to prevent you as well other students from being bullied again.

1. Report the issue to the school. I know sometimes it may be difficult to share your issues with an adult, however, I do believe they are best equipped to solve many issues. Last week, our school guidance counsellor, Miss Sunshine, spoke about the imporantance of reporting things that make us uncomfortable to adults and I beieve bullying should be reported. Miss Sunshine is a lovely lady and a great listener and she has help me through very difficult times in the past. If you do not wish to speak with her, you speak with our teacher or our principal so that they may address the matter with the bully's parents.

2. Talk to your parents. After you have reported the issue to a school employee, your next step is to talk to your parents. Often times, our parents are best at guiding and helping us through difficult times. In reporting the issue to your parents, they will then need to visit your school to meet with the bully and his parent(s) as well as your teacher and principal. Here, adults can work to resolve and prevent the bullying from continuing.

3. Get counselling. I know you are scared, however, I do believe talking about the issue to a counsellor may help you to cope with the issue and moving on as best as possible. In getting counselling, you should also maintain a healthy lifestyle and a good balance or your daily activities.

I do hope I was able to help.

Your friend,

Susie
