Given :  a closed box made of wood of uniform thickness has length, breadth, height 12cm,10cm,8cm respectively.

the thickness of the wood is 1cm,

To Find : the inner surface area

Solution:

outer dimensions 12 cm , 10 cm and 8 cm

Inner dimensions

12 - 2 x 1 = 10 cm

10 - 2 x 1 = 8 cm

8 - 2 x 1 = 6 cm

Surface area = 2 ( lb + bh + lh )

= 2 ( 10 * 8 +  8 * 6  + 10 * 6)

= 2( 80 + 48 + 60)

= 2( 188)

= 376  cm²
