Answer:
lenth l = 40cm
breathe b = 20cm
height h = 5cm respectively
sheets required = surface area of box(cuboid)
so,
surface area of box = 2×(l×b+l×h+b×h)
= 2(40×20+40×5+20×5)
= 2×(800+200+100)
= 2×1100
= 2200cm² answer
so 2200cm² sheets of metal is required

Given:-
- The dimensions of the closed (cuboid) box are 40cm,20cm and 5cm.
To Find:-
- How much sheet of metal is required?
Concept:-
- Let's go through the concept first. Concept used here is Total Surface Area(TSA) of a Cuboid.Substitute the values in the equation and let's find it out.
Formulae Applied:-
- Total Surface Area (TSA) of a Cuboid = 2(lb + bh + hl)
Solution:-
Length = 40cm
Breadth = 20cm
Height = 5cm
According to the question we have!
Total Surface Area (TSA) of a Cuboid = 2(lb + bh + hl)
⟹ 2(lb + bh + hl)
⟹ 2[(40 × 20) + (20 × 5) + (5 × 40)]
⟹ 2(800 + 100 + 200)
⟹ 2(1100)
⟹ 2 × 1100
⟹ 2200
⟹2200cm^2
Hence,
The sheet of metal required is 2200cm^2.
